Scrabble Flash?

I'm really tempted to buy Scrabble Flash. This electronic game that is sort of like text twist, with actual tiles. I usually don't like spending money, and I'm always hesitant. I dont know how quickly I'll get tired of the game though. Its $22 on amazon...I'm tempted

Just watch this:

Stand by me...

I know I haven't been good with posting.

My advisor may have put me down for the wrong course next semester. I'm really upset about that, and will need to sort everything out on Monday.

It's a rainy Saturday. Not too bad. I walked to town today with Hannah and Caroline :)

I went to Boloco! Finally! I got to use my lil card that lets me get mini burritos for $1 (normally $4). The card lets me have three of them for $1 and then all the rest for $2. Except the cashier couldn't find the hole punch, so I still can get three of them for $1! I had no idea what to get, so I started from the top, and got "Buffalo." Which was actually really good. It was moderately spicy, and the perfect snack, as I wasn't totally hungry. It filled me up. That made me really happy.
I have to admit, I'm still hesitant to try all the flavors because some of them seem quite outlandish, but I will do my best to try as many as I can!

Yeah!

Not much else is going on, so I'm pretty chill.

If you're bored, come stand by me!

It's official!

My Spring 2011 courses are set, and I couldn't be happier!

It got pretty tense at the last minutes because the site was about two minutes late, so I was just repeatedly hitting "Submit" until it accepted. Then it only accepted half my classes! It told me I was too early to register for the other ones. So, I freaked out a bit, figured that it was because it needed more time to update, and went back to resubmit them.

Then it said that I successfully registered, and I let out a big "Yeahhhhh!!
"

Here's what went down with my planning:

Figuring out how to lay out the sections
My complete backup plan!
I'll post my final schedule soon!

Registering for classes

My registration window opens at 3PM, which is when I get to submit my request for next semesters classes. I'm really anxious, because I want everything to work out as planned, and I do not want to make any last minute changes if a class fills up.

Right now, the class that I am most anxious about is Operating Systems. There are only ten spots left in the class, and I have a whole day to go... If that section fills up, I'll have to take a night class :( which I do not particularly want to do.

It's raining again! No surprises there...But it's pretty nice out. I walked to Rite Aid this morning, and filled my prescriptions. Ahhh, the Coca-Cola guy just pulled up. I'll have to keep an eye on him, and possibly have a word. Humans vs Zombies is pretty intense, all the guys in this dorm are now zombies. Most of them were ambushed upon returning to campus from town.

I just saw the Coca-Cola guy go into the dorm next door. He better not skip us like he did one week, because we're out of Sunkist again, and Andrew decided to be foolish and unplugged the machine in an attempt to get free soda, so now the Canada Dry is "Out of Order."

Alright, well, I have tests to study for, and work to do, so I'll see ya!

My life be like...

So, today was a good day. My mom came up to visit :D So we walked, talked, and had lunch. My mom also bought me a bathrobe! Awesome!

In addition, I got three letters, two of them from my family in France. I can't wait to write back!

Tomorrow might be a busy day. I have to go to Health Services and convince them to write me a prescription for my ADHD medication. I'll also hopefully make my way over to Student Services so I can put some more money on my cash card, in order to do laundry!

Right now I'm eating way too many Wheat Thins, and its 12:10am. Time to get some rest!

Oooh, Ahhhh!

Sunday already?! And next semester...

I know that I have not posted much, and for that I am sorry. But I have been busy/not on my computer, and/or lacking anything of true interest to say...

Anyway, it's another rainy Sunday. It's pretty much supposed to rain for the rest of the week. Maybe it will get cold enough, and snow for a bit.

I just finalized my tentative schedule for next semester. I'm happy with it. Wednesday and Thursday will be busy days for me, but it should be alright. Tuesday and Friday have only one class that ends at 10:45, so those will be good days. Monday is decent, with two classes. I hope that I wont get too much weekend homework, because that would stink. Most importantly, I'm trying to avoid the dreaded three hour night class. There is only one section for my class on operating systems that meets during the day. All the other ones are at night. (Possibly on Monday too; that would stink)

So, I'm hoping that I get everything sorted out. I made two backup schedules for the two classes that I can potentially get bumped from. My registration window is on Wednesday the 27th at 3:00 PM. No later than 2:55, I will be sitting at my computer on the registration website, with my mouse hovering over the "Register" button, waiting to click.

Registration has been going on since the 18th, with priority established by the amount of credits a student has. This means that pretty much all freshmen go last. As for the order of registration when credit numbers are equal; I don't know. It doesn't seem to be alphabetical. Hope it goes well!

Like a G6...

Whoops. I missed a day or two. Sorry!

I've had a lot of work, and I haven't had much time to sit myself down and write a coherent post. Instead of posting current events, I'm just going to complain. Not that I dont usually do that...

So, here in Vermont, like in many other places, drivers are required to stop for pedestrians that are waiting to cross the street. We even have a sign in the middle of the crosswalk to remind people of that. I'd get you a picture, but I dont feel like stopping in the middle and taking a picture. Anyway, sometimes people like to whiz past while people are actually standing in the street. Thats totally obnoxious! What the heck!?!?

In other news, It has started to snow here. For about five minutes, but it's snow nonetheless..

Additionally, do you know what else I hate? Waking up before your alarm rings. I've been doing that more recently now. Actually, I'm not sure that it's a bad thing because it might make waking up easier, but still, you just lie there, knowing that your alarm is going to ring, forcing you to get up and do something about it.

Again, I'm sorry about the lack of posts. I'm hoping that I can get back into a normal rhythm of daily posting!

Until then, I'll be flying like a G6!

I was going to name my post "Urgent...Emergency," but I thought that might be too drastic

So, today I had my Computer Theory midterm. I studied all morning, and got really anxious and impatient right before the test.

The first part of the test was fact-based, kinda simple questions. About 27 of them. It took me about 30 minutes. Actually, I have no idea how long it took me...Anyway, the second part, which took me about two hours, was on Python code. Now, we only spent about an hour "learning" Python, so I didn't really know what the heck I was doing. But I persisted, and persisted...I honestly thought that I would never finish. I thought that I was going to fail the midterm, and fail the class. (I actually don't know if I passed or not, but the code that I wrote essentially completed the task). I got through it, and was satisfied enough to turn it in with about five minutes left. I was so hyper-focused the entire time, that I didn't even notice that there were only two other students in the room with me by the end.

So, that ends the discussion for midterms (as that's my only one). Today in the mail, I got my TD Bank statement, which so joyfully informed me that I spent $200 since I've gotten here, and I got a set of "business cards." More on that some other time.

The rest of the week is probably going to be pretty busy. I've got a couple of chunks of work to do, and hopefully they wont be too stressful.

I wish it would snow!!!!!

Urgent Emergency, PARKOUR!, and I'm still reading your diary...

So, I've decided that from now on the titles of posts will contain the words and lines that I am currently yelling out loud as I go through the day. Those of you from MHS know that I tend to pick random lines from songs, and just blurt them out. In this case, I've been singing the song "Urgent," because I got a sample of Emergen-C. I've been yelling "PARKOUR!" because it's funny, and a bunch of people in Bankus (including my roommate, Peter) have joined the Parkour club. As for reading your diary, it's a random annoying song that just gets stuck in my head...

Last night, I stayed up until 2am watching Mr. Bean (the original tv series), because he is straight awesome. (I actually stayed up until 1am the night before watching the same episodes, but there's no harm in watching them over). This morning, I woke up at 8 as usual, and got ready fast because I needed to be across campus (which in reality is not that far, it's like 6 minutes door to door, at my speed) (It's probably more like 7 minutes, but I dont really like that number, and I dont want to say its 8 minutes) for my meeting with my Rhetoric professor (the one who gave me a vehicular shout-out on Saturday). I was feeling pretty crummy on my way over there, probably because of lack of sleep, and the general rush, but after I got to the meeting, I felt fine.

Anyway, I eventually made it to statistics at 9:30, and then stopped at the mailroom on my way back (Thats the best part about ending my 9:30 class)

Today was a very good mail day! Here's the loot:

Yay!
It contains: (Counter-clockwise from upper left)
  • A poster-sized picture (to be revealed later)
  • The samples of Emergen-C
  • Popular Mechanics
  • Snowboarder
  • A flyer for a blood drive on the 27th
  • A coupon for a free bottle of Advil
  • A sample of Scope toothpaste (which burst in the envelope)
The only thing that would have made it an excellent mail day is if I got a letter!

Anyway, last night, I also noticed that my notebooks are brothers:
The smaller one was given to me by Champlain at my summer launch, and I bought the bigger one. I only noticed yesterday!

Regardless, I studied for my midterm tomorrow, and then I went to talk to my professor. He was really nice, and I left his office literally singing "Walking on Sunshine" out loud.

That's a lot of text, so I'll stop here. Congrats if you made it this far!

Urgent, Urgent, Urgent, Urgent, Emergency!

Am I still being unproductive?

Yes.

Its harder to do work when you have so little work to do. When you dont have that much work, its easier to justify doing it later. And you dont want to do it now because it's kind of annoying. I need to brainstorm topics for my essay, before I meet with my professor tomorrow. Eventually, I'll get really sick of putting it off, and just do the work.

I'm happy to report that the yield sign in the crosswalk has reappeared. Not much else has happened, besides me walking around and procrastinating on the work that has to get done eventually.

I decided to fill out another voter registration form. I misplaced mine right before I left for college, and never got around to fixing it. We'll see if they send me an absentee ballot in time for election day. That also means I should read up on the candidates, so I can make an informed decision.

Finally, I hate it when you have to get out of the shower and its cold in the bathroom. Of course, you never want to get out of the shower. Eventually, you have to, because otherwise you might drown.

Should I be doing homework?

Maybe. I mean, when shouldn't you be doing homework? There's always something you could be doing. The more important thing to pay attention to, is what is due tomorrow? In my case, Mondays are relatively good to me, which means that I can have a decent weekend. I only have one class, Statistics, in the morning. The good news is that I don't have any math homework due tomorrow, even though I have some due later in the week, along with a project that is due eventually.

I do have a conference with my Rhetoric teacher in the morning, before math, to discuss my next paper. That, I need to work on...I have to figure out what I'm going to write about.

It has started snowing on the high mountain peaks, which is really exciting, because that means that it's going to snow down here soon! Actually, if you look across Lake Champlain (There's a great view from the cafe), you can see snow on the mountains in New York.

On a random note, I subscribed to text message updates from the cafe's facebook page, which means that I get a text message telling me what's for lunch, dinner, and late nite (when they remember to post). It makes things easier, because I dont have to constantly check their facebook page to see what there is to eat!

Speaking of facebook pages, I'd like to remind you that you can now follow me on facebook, and receive updates on my new posts. Just click the box on the right!

The sign in the middle of the crosswalk that tells cars to yield to pedestrians, and is also fun to leap over when you're feeling daring has disappeared. The crosswalk feels weird without it, because I'm used to having to decide whether to walk to the left or right of the sign.

Finally, I've been noticing that several people have a couple of the same shirts that I own. This isn't fun, because no one likes to see someone else with the same shirt that you thought was unique to you! Now, I'm not talking about people in Champlain apparel, I'm talking things like my Japanese "PlayStation" shirt. Also, one of the half-zip sweaters that I have seems to be quite popular, as I've seen at least four of them, in multiple colors. Stop stealing my clothes!

That is all

I read your diary!

Well well well. If it isnt another rainy Saturday. That's okay though.

You know what really grinds my gears? When shoelaces come undone in the rain, and then they soak up all the water on the ground. And then you have to retie them...in the rain. Fortunately, this has not happened to me recently, because I have returned to my old habit of double tying my laces. Double tying is slightly annoying in that when you have to take your shoes off, it's actually more complicated. That's no fun.

Today, Champlain is hosting an open house, which means that lots of people are walking around and looking at the school. Personally, it isnt that weird, because the campus is usually empty on the weekends, and they are replacing the students that would normally walk around. I realize that what I said probably makes no sense to you, but that's okay, because I understood what I said.

Last night, I watched "The Time Travelers Wife" which I actually found to be a really good movie. Ever since I've arrived here, I have been exposed to many different types of movies that i would not normally watch.

This morning, I walked to town with Peter (my roommate, in case you didn't know). I went to the post office to drop off a package that I was mailing. Oh, funny story; when I was walking down Main street, a car started honking a lot, so I looked in it really confused. There was a woman in the passenger seat who looked equally confused, and I could not really see the driver's face except for that he was pointing at me. Then I saw his hair, and instantly recognized him as Mike Kelly, my Rhetoric professor. He was in the car with his family (he has two younger kids). That whole encounter made me really happy, and I was quite amused that he was so excited to see me!

Anyway, after the Post Office, we went to Rite Aid, to stock up on some things, (buy one get one free vitamins!), and I was informed that one of my credit cards had expired. How annoying; it's the contactless PayPass keychain that expired. I guess I'll wait until November to get another one when I go back home.

After I got back, I went to go visit Shelby, who was in the registration tent for tours. I meant to get myself a nametag, but I somehow forgot...

And then, when I got back to Bankus, I noticed that maintenance was replacing a random light that I didn't even know was out. So, I took the opportunity to let him know that two lights upstairs were out, as was the light in the entrance. He was really nice about it.

On a completely different note, I've taken Jeremy's advice, and created a facebook page for my blog. So, if you like reading this blog, which I hope you do, you can like it on facebook, and that way, you'll always know when there are new posts! This way, I don't have to keep posting it on my own wall as much. If you've got a sec, you can check out Jeremy's blog over at themediamanifesto.blogspot.com. Caution: not for the intellectually weak!

So, go like the facebook page! See that box on the upper right?  ^^^>>> Thats the Facebook page!

I'll be jammin!

Stress, happiness and more stress!

Okay, so it's Friday. Friday is awesome, thats great.
I got really stressed out before, but its not an issue now.

Here's what's up:

  • Free Shirts (with the option to tie dye)
  • Make your own cupcakes

The front

And the back!
Cupcake!

Another rainy Friday!

I can't remember if we've actually had that many rainy Fridays but that's okay, It's a rainy Friday. We have a flood watch in effect, which means a lot of rain, but I think most of it was overnight. Seeing all this rain makes me even more excited for the snow, because it's gonna snow a lot!

I'm actually starting to enjoy my evening class in web design on Thursday evenings. While it's not a thrilling schedule, the material actually captures my interest, making the class significantly less painful.

I'm not going to breakfast this morning in an effort to eat less food. For those of you who think that's absurd, consider that I have never really eaten breakfast before school since around the age of 10. So, this morning I had one cookie and a cheese stick, and I'm going to attempt to make it until lunch. If things work out, I might not be going to the cafe in the morning that often...

I'm pumped to go on the hike tomorrow, but I'm wondering if they might call it off because of all the rain we've gotten. The trail must be soaked!

Anyway, do you know what really grinds my gears?
People who trample all over our front lawn. Granted, we do have a large amount of grass out front, but that doesn't mean you should walk all over it!
But on a more serious note, if you're walking by, and are finishing a cigarette, don't throw it on the grass or in the flowers. That's gross, and there is no need for that. The cigarette is never going to wash away anywhere, and it will always stay right there. So move your lazy self and dispose of it properly.

In addition. If you cannot manage to go for 10 minutes without checking your cellphone, please do not drive a car. You are putting yourself and everyone else in danger, and you will look really stupid when you do!

I was talking to Jeremy last night, who suggested that I make a fan page on facebook for my blog, that way people will get updates when I post something new, and I wont feel as spammy about posting it on my blog. As much as I hate self-promotion and stuff like that, I might end up making the fan page. Good idea Jeremy!

Oh, wow, it's almost 9am, which means that I have to start getting ready for Rhetoric at 9:30. Then lunch, then Concepts. And then, I'll be Jammin, because it's the weekend!

Slow Thursdays, essays, and a cool video

Here I am, about halfway through my six-hour break between classes. (I don't know if it's actually halfway, but I'm calling it that).

This morning, I had math at 9:30, which went pretty well. Even better was that I got a free coffee mug this morning, to add to my large collection of free stuff. I love things. I also got a pen. The mug has our beaver on it, and it says Student Government Association on the side.

I also met with my academic advisor today, to figure out what courses I'm taking next semester, and it went easier than I expected. I'll take another look at it later, and maybe we can talk then.

This afternoon, I've been writing my Concepts essay on how artists explore human identity. Basing my work on the story Circular Ruins, by Jorge Luis Borges. There isn't much to say, so I'm not too pleased with my essay at the moment. I'll probably come back to it in an hour or so.

I have to return my dvds that I borrowed from the city library last week, which means I'll probably go for a walk to kill some time, and get some air. It's a really nice day out. Did I mention that I'm going for a hike with the wilderness club this Saturday? I can't remember if I did.

After I get out of my Web Development class tonight at 8:15 (or hopefully earlier!), it officially starts to feel like the weekend. Friday is a relatively good day, with my two Core classes in the morning (Rhetoric and Concepts), and I'm done with everything by 1:45. Tomorrow night we also have cupcake decorating in the Fireside Lounge, something that I'm really pumped for!

I did not get any mail today, which was slightly sad. Please, feel free to write, or request a letter!

This is like the 5th time that I've clicked edit to add more to this post, because I keep thinking of other things to add. I have a midterm for Computer Theory next Tuesday that I need to study for. I'm slightly concerned about it, because I feel like we're going to be tested on material that was in the book, but not necessarily gone over in class. Also, it's one of those "department tests" that are written by several teachers, which means that there could possibly be material that we did not cover as well as other sections. Hopefully that is not the case. I'll probably make a study guide!

On a completely irrelevant note, Sam just finished a project for his film class, and it's really cool, so you should probably check it out. Also, I'm in it.

(Watch it in full screen HD!)

Have fun figuring out which corners I'm in!

Aint that Jammin?

Wednesday!

Midweek! That's pretty good.
Time flies here.

I've been getting random headaches recently. I'm attributing them to lack of sleep, even though I'm kind of getting the same amount. I got into another argument with my Concepts teacher today again. A friendly one, of course. This time the topic was about whether I properly concluded my presentation. See it's crucial that the class know when to applaud, and he said I left them hanging for five seconds before I asked "any questions?" Hahaha.

I've had a relatively productive day. I did my laundry this morning, and then my statistics homework. After class, I came back to finish my statistics, and then I went to lunch. I dropped by the mailroom, where I picked up three magazines and two packages (Noodles, and soap).
Came back here, and did my Web homework, which was to modify a website layout into two-column format. It took less time than I anticipated, and since my professor told us to "do more than the minimum," I emailed him to ask what more I could do.

And here I am now, figuring out what to do next, and debating whether I should take some advil.

Here's a little bonus, a time lapse video that I took this morning.

Bankus Basement!

Here's your tour of the basement!

1st floor comes next!

I just used one of those breakout rooms in the library

Or whatever they're called... But the point is, they make you feel really important and productive when you have a group meeting. It's like a mini-boardroom.
That is all.

Emma's mom is so awesome!

For those of you who were not fortunate enough to be in Ms. Toulatos' advisory, you may not know that twice a year, Emma's mom would make us treats. Now that was awesome, because food is just plain great, and they were so good.

But today, I go to pick up my mail, and I am handed this:

Ahhh! A package! Everyone knows packages are awesome, and especially unexpected ones!

But when I got back to my room, I was thrilled to see the contents:

It was filled with all the yummy snacks that we love so much!!! I'm going to have to savor them, because they are just so awesome, and I'm so happy about it. I put everything back neatly in the box to be eaten later! And then I wrote a thank you card :D

Random acts of kindness rock! And so does emma, and her family!
Thank you so much!!!

Now I can stay Jammin!!

The end of a weekend

So, I've totally lost count of how many weeks it has been, but that's okay. It doesn't really matter anymore.

The three day weekend is coming to an end, and students are starting to trickle back home. So long quiet Bankus! In all honesty though, it will be nice to have people back, as I sure have missed a select few :D Haaa. That's mean. I'm not singling anyone out, I'll be happy to see everyone!

I wonder if this week will go by even faster because we sliced a day off. Who knows... The fact that I have several assignments due this week might drag it out.

It's starting to get quite cold here at night, which hopefully means that snow is coming soon :D Whether I am ready for it or not, is another story. Well, I'm ready mentally, but may need to buy some more UnderArmour or the like...

Since today is a Federal holiday, it means that there is no mail today, which stinks, because mail is a pivotal part of my day. I have to make sure to send out more letters, so I can get a lot of mail in return! Feel free to send me something!

Every time a car turns into our driveway, I look out the window to see if its someone I know. So far, it seems that none of the cars are going to Bankus. All in good time!

Oh, look at that...WeatherBug on my BlackBerry just informed me that there is a Frost Advisory for Burlington in effect from 2AM to 8AM tomorrow morning. Low temperatures of 31 to 35 degrees. Although the only "impacts" it lists are "Crops and sensitive vegetation." Hmmm. Intense? We'll see! :D

Otherwise, stay Jammin!

PS I'll get around to making videos of the 1st floor and the basement soon!

Ahh, Monday morning

But it's essentially like another Sunday morning. It's still all quiet, and no one is around.
This means that I should get my homework done before people start coming home, and I get all distracted!

Sunday, October 10, 2010

The second floor?

Yeah, Bankus is still just as empty. And I've been very unproductive, but I've been relaxing, mostly. Anyway, here's what the second floor looks like, in more detail. Although, it is not really that interesting compared to the third :D
If you haven't seen the third floor, watch this first.

I just spent $90.02 at Shaw's

But, I did stock up on a ton of stuff. Including toiletries, which are more expensive. Here's a picture of my general food drawer. Note that this only includes large items that are reserve stock-I have some other foods in my fridge, and there's always something in my desk.
My goal is to make everything last no less than two weeks :D

Note that I buy a lot of things in pairs, and that you only see the top layer of everything in this picture.

Let the drummer kick...

So, last night at 2am, when I'm lying in bed, I hear a faint buzzing sound, and I freeze, so I can hear more. I quickly realize that it's someone's fire alarm next door. I scramble to find my ID, stampede downstairs, and run outside. Rowell set off their alarm, for at least the third, but probably the fourth time, this year. So, I stood out there in the cold, watching them stand out there in the cold until the Fire Department checked everything out. Sucks for them!

I do my best to make sure that our fire alarm always looks like this:

-System Normal-
Although, I kind of want to see what the screen says when there's an alarm, I have a feeling that I would have too much adrenaline to stop and check.

Also, if I were ever woken up in the middle of the night by the fire alarm, I think I would be pretty freaked out. Those things are loud!!!!!

In my room...

A video of the third floor and my room!

Yes, you do want to watch...

Stack the memory to the sky...

So, the end of my Friday went well. It is pretty creepy how fast school clears out on the weekends, especially holiday ones. After lunch, campus looks totally empty, and there is practically no one at dinner. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the entire late nite kitchen staff were work-study students. Whether that's a good thing or not, I am not sure. But it means that I'm friends with at least half of the kitchen staff, because they're all in my classes.

About an hour into late nite, I went to get a sandwich, and Charlie told me that it was only the 6th one he made that night. Also, I don't know if its a regional thing, but the guys can make a pretty good sandwich here!

Anyway, I also took a trip downtown to the public library to pick up some dvd's. We were going to get Mr. Bean, but the first two volumes were checked out, and I'm obviously not going to start with the third one. We ended up getting two Wallace and Grommit dvds, one Bill Cosby one, and a Magic School Bus VHS! How thrilling. When I walked into the children's section, I had flashbacks to when I used to spend so much time there as a kid, and I would always walk out with those red pouches that had the books on tape. I loved those, and when I heard a certain sound, I would always turn the page!

It was raining on and off yesterday, which I didn't really mind because it makes everything more interesting. There have been several leaks discovered after all this rain, and fortunately none appear to be in my room. Maintenance was climbing on our roof on Thursday.

My right knee feels weird, and I have no idea why. Like it hurts when I flex it. As a result, I have not been to the gym because I'm afraid to hurt it more. If it does not lighten up by the end of the weekend, maybe I'll take a walk over to the medical clinic on campus.

Finally, I hear that some schools don't have off on Columbus Day. Well, I'm sorry for you. I didn't get off Labor Day, so there.

Stay Jammin!

Friday, October 8, 2010

Wheee! Friday!

It's Friday again, and this time it's a three day weekend!

This morning was a good one, because I only had one class. The second one was canceled because my teacher is at a convention in Texas. I'm actually pretty tired, and probably need to catch up on some sleep, but in order to do that, I have to go to sleep earlier, which is not as easy as it sounds. I can't just wake up later, because I hate doing that, it wastes the day!

Nachos?

Last night, while I was doing my LEAD requirement, I checked my phone to see what was at late nite. It said "Nacho Bar." Naturally, this was cause for celebration, because we all know that nacho bars are one of the best late nites around. (next to the "cupcake bar" which has sadly only made one appearance). I immediately informed my roommate Peter, who was sitting next to me, and texted several people.

When I returned to Bankus, I pretty much ran throughout the house announcing the nacho bar, much to everyone's delight.

When we got to late night, I was confused to see people walking around with tacos...
Huh?
The other kids around were like "huh?"
So I asked one of the managers: "are you guys not serving nachos tonight?"
He goes "Nope, not serving nachos tonight"
"But your facebook page says you are!"
"Well, this is what we're serving"
*annoyance*

You can see for yourself right here.

In all fairness, the taco was pretty good, and essentially contained the same ingredients I would have had on my nachos, so I did not miss out on any nutritional value I would have gotten from nachos (none).

In addition, they had some breast cancer cake, which I had a little piece of, that a friend didn't want to finish. That's probably a good thing because I didn't need all that sugar. If you're wondering what the hell breast cancer cake is, its normal cake, but they have sprinkles that are in the shape of the pink breast cancer ribbons. Cute, no?

To top it all off, It was also wings and karaoke night in the lounge. But it was not until I saw someone with a Buffalo Wild Wings plate that I sprinted into action. Unfortunately, when we arrived, all the wings were gone, but after about 15 minutes, more arrived! Yay! Unfortunately, they were not boneless wings, which I prefer greatly. But it's okay, because I enjoyed being able to taunt the rest of the fab 5!

As for the LEAD requirement, it went pretty well, except for this girl who kept using Hitler as an example for why we should be censored on the internet. Now, I hate Hitler just as much as the next guy, but if someone wants to make a blog about their adoration for him, that is their right.

So there. It's another rainy day here in Burlington. If it were cold enough, we would be buried in snow right now. It's a thursday, which means that I have a 6 hour gap between my statistics class this morning, and my three hour Web Development class this evening. But I'm in a good mood. I'd like to go to the gym, but I've been ratcheting up the intensity for my workouts, and as a result, I'm slightly sore the next day, so I don't know if its an option.

We'll see!

Stay Jammin!

Na na naaa

It's Wednesday morning!! Whoo!

This morning, I woke up, went to breakfast, and then went to the gym! How awesome. I did weights today, because I need a break from cardio. I'm considering getting a personal trainer, but I don't know yet. Just a thought!

Anyway, I don't have class until 12:30 today, and my teacher is at a conference in Texas, so we'll have a sub. We're working on a group project though, so it should be okay. That's my only class today, which is pretty good.

Tonight, I'm doing my LEAD (community service) requirement by spending two hours discussing Internet privacy and other things along those lines. I hope it goes well! If not, well, at least I'll have fulfilled my requirements.

I'm confused by the appearance of algae in my fishtank...There was none for the first month, and now its starting to appear in the corners. This and the fact that Bankus seems less than lively concerns me. I hope they're okay!!!

Part 2:

I just saw the Coca-Cola man pull up, and I went downstairs to talk to him. The first week we were here, we asked him if we could have orange soda in the machine, and he said that we could, as soon as something runs out. I knew nothing had run out, but I went down to talk to him anyway, and he consolidated two rows of coke, and is replacing one with Sunkist. Win!

I probably wont drink it, but a bunch of the other guys wanted it, so I asked for it! Wheeee

I'm seeing double vision...

I had Rhetoric this morning, where we discussed rhetorical things, and the effectiveness of drug public service announcements.

I can't wait for the snow to get here. I really want to go snowboarding, Badly. I thought I was doing something important, but then I got distracted/lost focus, and now I have no idea what is going on.

I have a three hour class at 2, which is a slight annoyance. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the gym after that. I didn't go yesterday because I still felt a little sore.

My mind is really all over the place right now (isnt it always?), so I'm sorry that I can't write a coherent post. I need to head over to the mailroom to pick up my case of mac and cheese, and hopefully some letters :D

I'm out of creative post titles, so now they're just random.
Be happy if you know where it's from. If you don't, well, that's okay too.

It's Monday!

I think this is the 5th week? I'm not sure, I've kinda lost count. Either way, it's a new week.
Monday's are usually pretty good to me. I only have Statistics in the morning, and then the rest of the day off. That leaves me time to do homework for tomorrow, and sort out my week ahead.

It's gotten colder! I'm now taking sweaters with me when I go out, otherwise I'll freeze. And by the looks of the forecast, I'll be putting away my shorts pretty soon (which is good, because I need more room).

I might walk down to town today to get some things sorted out, but I am not sure yet. I'm being very picky about the stamps for the things I am mailing, and I need a certain denomination. Naturally, I'm not too keen to throw down several stamps and end up overpaying.

10AM Sunday!

Another morning where I dragged myself out of bed between 9:00 and 9:30. I went to sleep at 2:30 last night, which is a little better. Today, I have some math homework to do that is due tomorrow.

I just signed up for my LEAD (Life Experience & Action Dimension) program, which is  a requirement that everyone everyone must fulfill. I signed up for a two hour discussion on the Internet, because it sounds interesting. Here is the description:

The Internet may be the best thing since Gutenberg put the alphabet into movable type, but it's also raising society's anxiety levels about such things as pornography, hate speech, and personal information becoming more available online. Should we consider our approach to privacy and free speech because of this?
Anyway, it should be interesting. If not, well, I kinda had to do it anyway.

Hopefully, I'll be able to hit the gym again today, as I've gone several times this week, and I want to keep it up!

My fish worry me

Well, mainly Bankus. Recently, he's been floating sideways on the top of the tank, which really annoys me because I keep thinking that he is not alive. So I yell at him, and then he swims away. I'm still concerned though, maybe he isn't feeling well.

I hope he is okay, because I really like him. He's a good fish. Hall seems fine though.

It's 11:25, Saturday morning

I woke up at 9, snoozed until like 9:45, then got up. I went to town with Ben and Andrew, making the dumb mistake of wearing shorts and short sleeves when it's 50 degrees outside. I was pretty cold.

While we were eating at Brueggers Bagels, Sarah Schu and her parents magically appeared behind us, so I was quite surprised. It was really cold out though!

It's 3:45AM, Saturday morning

And I'm heading to sleep :)

And a rainy Friday...

It's still raining here in Vermont, which is what I hear the weather is like for pretty much the entire northeast. It's alright though, I don't mind it.

In addition, it's Friday! Which is awesome. I don't know what I'm going to do this weekend, but I hope it will be fun-filled! It's 11 am now, and I just came back from my 9:30 Rhetoric class. I have a short while before I go to my 12:30 Concepts of the Self class, and then I'm done for the day.

The good thing is that for the past couple of weeks, I feel like my weekends begin on Thursday night, because after I come back from my class at 8:15PM, I feel really accomplished, and Friday is not a particularly bad day.

I really need posters for my room, but I'm having an obnoxiously hard time selecting one. I need like a poster store that I can walk through, that has tons of posters. I feel like all the ones that I would like, someone else already has, and that's just not cool.
